Colorado bankruptcies declined 5.7% in August compared with the same period a year ago, even as Larimer and Weld counties recorded increases. Boulder County bankruptcy filings declined, with a slight uptick in Broomfield. That's according to a BizWest analysis of U.S. Bankruptcy Court data. Numbers cited include all new filings, including open, closed and dismissed cases. Colorado recorded 514 bankruptcy filings in August, compared with 545 in August 2021. Year to date, the state has recorded 3,356 bankruptcy filings, compared with 4,552 in the first eight months of 2021, down 26%.
